The Haunted Boy, The Show Will Go On: Property Owner Withdraws Injunction to Stop Release of Exorcism Film

The owners of the former St. Vincent's Mental Hospital (now a subsidized housing project called "Castle Park Apartments") have withdrawn a request for a restraining order against a film to debut in St. Louis next month.

The Haunted Boy: The Secret Diary of the Exorcist tells the story of a 1949 exorcism involving Saint Louis University priests and a boy from suburban Washington D.C. believed to be possessed by the devil. Part of the movie is filmed at Castle Park Apartments in north St. Louis County with filmmakers (and brothers) Christopher and Phillip Booth investigating the old hospital for paranormal activity.

On Tuesday, Community Housing Concepts LLC filed for a temporary restraining order against the Booth brothers seeking to to block the release of the film. The injunction reportedly asserts that the Booths had no permission to film on its property and falsely claim that the apartment complex was once a "haunted asylum."

Today, Daily RFT contacted Community Housing's attorney Paul Puricelli of Clayton, who informs us that the request for a restraining order has been withdrawn.

"Turns out they did have permission to film and did so prior to my client taking ownership of the building in 2007," says Puricelli, who adds that Community Housing has no plans on filing other actions against the film.

That's right. The show will go on! Haunted Boy is to debut October 21 at the Tivoli Theatre. Oh, and, it includes an interview with me regarding my 2005 story on the exorcism, Hell of a House.

Note: The Booths could not be immediately reached for comment.

Ghost Adventures investigate Haunted Boy set at Rolling Hills Asylum.

Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany NY, sits the sprawling 200 acres of the Rolling Hills Asylum, to be featured on tonight’s Ghost Adventures episode.
For many, this place is a lesser known diamond in the rough, that is, until tonight. I recently had the pleasure of speaking with the current owner of RHA, Sharon Coyle. I read the new Booth Brother’s Film “The Haunted Boy: Secret Diary of the Exorcist” was filmed partly on location at Rolling Hills, how did that come to pass? “I had wanted to meet the Booth Brothers forever, when I first saw “Children of the Grave,”…I thought these people are brilliant, I really want to work with them.  They do possibly the best paranormal documentaries I’ve ever seen, with what they’re doing, I think they’re amazing.  I came to find out I had friends that were good friends with them, but could never get to an event where they were at.  I met them at the Queen Mary and we just clicked, after seeing my resume the rest is history.”
Sharon mentions that the film makers always conduct extensive research, interviewing eyewitnesses on location whenever possible.  “They talked to the Priest that was involved, they did all the real life interviews where they occurred.  The asylum was used to film flashbacks and reenactments.”
Ladies and gentleman, this film looks entirely too wild to miss!
It will be airing on SYFY, the exact date is to be announced. If you can’t wait, join me in pre-ordering your copy today at thehauntedboy.com but hurry, they are selling out quickly. Author: Brianna Williams. http://networkedblogs.com/8j8Eq

Children Of The Grave Zombie Road Do Not Treapass!

EUREKA, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com)-- Lawler-Ford Road just over the Wildwood-Ellisville line was once an abandoned gravel road now it's a paved bike path. What is now home to health nuts, urban legends used to reside. The story of a zombie-like homicidal man wandering the woods killing lovers looking for an escape may not be based in truth but they have made for one whopping legend, renaming the road for many as Zombie Road.

"It peaked my interest," says Drew McClure who learned about Zombie Road from a SyFy Network documentary (Children Of Of The Grave) that showed pictures of silhouetted spirits of children and flashes of orbs through the night.

"They sold it perfectly," says McClure, "there are pictures of people standing on the hill and the building disappears it was all special one of the top scariest places to visit."

When he and his girlfriend and her brothers and cousin made the trip down the road last month they found a scare but not the one they were looking for.

"The intention was to find ghosts," says Tiffany Klingerman, "but we found flashlights in our faces and cops." Then they found themselves with a fine in their hands for trespassing, the citation even reading "was trespassing on Zombie Road."

"It was a 177 dollars each for each of us," says Klingerman, "they say it goes up to 300 in about a month."

Halloween peaks interest and peaks police patrols and fines. For years the road was home to trouble and criminal activity which is why it's purpose was changed and why police still patrol the path.

"They said they catch teenagers every single night," she says.

While these teenagers who got caught paid up, they say even without the fine Zombie Road really isn't worth the trip.

"Before it was all gravel roads and deserted looked scary," says McClure, "it was a bike path, a boring bike path."

While they didn't leave with the scare they were searching for, they did leave with some advice for other scare seekers.

"Just don't go down Zombie road after dark because you will get fined and will get caught."
